BIOSPHERE RESERVE
| The Waterberg Mountain Range is one of Limpopo's major mountain ranges and stretches as a series of seemingly impenetrable barriers over the horizon when approaching it from the south. The area surrounding the Waterberg Mountain Range is an immense storehouse of cultural, archaeological and biological diversity. The mountain range itself is some 14 500 square km in extent, about 80 percent of the size of the Kruger National Park. |
The greater Waterberg region has now become an internationally recognized biosphere reserve exactly because it still possesses a core of untrammeled wilderness.
