WETLANDS

The Waterberg is a major and most important catchment area for the Limpopo Basin. Its 4 large rivers are not only a vital source of water for the people and wildlife living in this beautiful region, they are also a wonderful source of refreshment and entertainment for anyone spending quality time in the Waterberg.

The Waterberg's 4 larger rivers are the
  • Lephalale River
  • Mokolo River

These rivers, and those passing close to the Waterberg, are fed by a host of smaller rivers and streams such as the Melkrrivier, the Blokland Spruit, the Sterkstroom Spruit, the Grootfontein Spruit, the Taaibos Spruit and the Platbos Spruit.
